Weekly Updates at Prism Integrative Acupuncture

I had a MAJOR cookie craving last night. You know those cravings that just kind of take over your brain so you can’t think of anything else?

I’ve been sugar-free for a while now, and I honestly don’t even crave sugar anymore (a HUGE change from how I used to feel) so this took me by surprise. I was frustrated at first, and then I remembered my go-to recipe I use for times like this.

I call it “cookie bowl” and I want to share the sugar-free recipe with you so you can take charge of your sugar cravings too!

But before I do, I want to give a shoutout to two amazing clients who’ve really been putting in the work and have been getting some truly amazing results. Actually, I’ll just let them tell you about their successes.

“The sessions do so much to mitigate and manage my pain and inflammation, as well as stress and trauma. I feel incredibly supported” -P.S., Oakland, CA

“Katrina has completely changed the quality of my life with her practices. When I first started working with her I was experiencing extreme pain almost daily and was desperate for a solution. Within a few sessions I noticed my pain levels had dramatically decreased.
It was amazing how quickly I noticed a shift! Katrina is so supportive and it feels amazing to feel like you have someone advocating for you.” -H.S., Berkeley, CA

Now, where was I?

Oh, yeah. The ‘cookie’ recipe I promised you!

First, I should tell you: I rarely cook. I am a HUGE fan of simple, healthy(ish) recipes that take care of my endometriosis symptoms without forcing me to spend a ton of time in the kitchen. I love the simplicity of this recipe… and it seriously takes out a sugar craving like THAT *snaps fingers*.

Cookie Bowl
Ingredients:
1/2 c oats
1 T cocoa powder (no sugar or additives)
pinch sea salt (I’m in love with a red lava sea salt my step-mother-in-law brought back from Hawaii)
1/2 T raw local honey (processed honey can be inflammatory)
2 T coconut oil
splash water or milk substitute of choice (I use unsweetened vanilla rice milk)
Directions:
Stir together the dry ingredients, then mash in the wet ingredients. You can use more liquid to form raw cookie balls or less liquid and eat it as a ‘cookie bowl’. Either way, it’s DELICIOUS!

Anyways, give it a whirl and let me know what you think. I might even have some for you next time you come into the clinic :)

Oh and speaking of the clinic,  you do know that our doors are currently closed due to the covid-19 pandemic, right?

But the good news is that we’ve moved all of our patients into virtual appointments.

And guess what…I think everyone likes them even more than coming to the clinic. Never would have predicted that.

But it is convenient, safe, and you still get the best of me – just delivered virtually.

Anyways, that’s all for today. Hope you have a safe, healthy, and awesome day!

Katrina
